CBRE invests in energy management

The ‘green’ investor will be pleased to note that news from CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) shows that there is real potential for those interested in investing in environmentally friendly or ‘green’ developments and indeed it appears that companies are willing to support this objective as well.

CBRE has appointed a new vice-president of its Energy Services division, Peter Scarpelli. Scarpelli’s role will include noting energy reduction methods and recommending initiatives to help save costs in order to help the company’s account teams and clients make the most of energy management objectives.

Previously, Mr Scarpelli worked at Schneider Electric in the role of business development manager and has said that he intends to guide the firm to:

“help some of the largest and most respected companies in the world to develop and implement strategic energy management plans”

Those investors looking for ‘green’ office space developments and the most environmentally responsible developments and methods will no doubt be keen to watch his development.

In other news earlier this month, research by energy company Sabien Technology showed that tenants are actually willing and prepared to pay more for environmentally ‘green’ office space and this news support that theory. Energy efficient lighting or water systems are just two of the ways in which a development can become more environmentally friendly.

Being green and environmentally aware is something that concerns more and more businesses every year and as consumers become more aware themselves, many consumers and investors alike are looking to work with, employ and invest in the more green companies in the UK.
